How many rounds of Clomid before trying something different?

How many rounds of Clomid did you try before moving on to something else? I've read that if you don't have success after 3-4 cycles then it probably isn't going to work. Other sources have said 6 cycles. What has been your experience? Thank you for any input.

My doc told me that if we weren't successful by month 5 with clomid, it isn't going to Happen alone on clomid. Just finished my 5th round and moving on to a fertility specialist next week.

I was told a max of 6 but the more rounds you do the less likely it will work. At least that's what my OB says

Min 3 cycles max 5 cycles. That's what my RE explained.

My doc says 3 ovulatory cycles so that's the plan.

I did 5 before moving onto a fertility specialist. Then we did a 6th round with an iui. This was in order to satisfy my insurance requirements to move onto IVF, since my insurance requires 6 rounds of clomid first.

I've done 2 so far. My doc wants to try at least 2 more before going back to the drawing board but I feel like it won't do much good if it hasn't already

Max recommend cycles for a lifetime is 6. If it hasn't worked within 6 cycles you need to try something else.
