would you guys let your man go to a sorority formal with another girl?

My boyfriend is friends with some girl that clearly wants him and is trying to get with him and he agreed to go to formal with her...of course I was naturally upset but he said I'm being unreasonable and I should trust him that he won't do anything with her if she tries. What do you guys think about this?
