My Boyfriend Makes Me Feel Dumb...

Ok, so I know it's not really a huge deal, but my boyfriend keeps saying things when we hang out that are very condescending towards me. I'm a pretty intelligent person and I know he is smarter than me, but sometimes it just feels like he thinks I'm an idiot. For example, sometimes we'll be talking and he'll use a random word and stop, look at me and say "Do you know what that word means?" Or tonight, I was telling him about this medical article I read about some fitness theory and he immediately was like "Um, no, that's not right. That's ridiculous." And he proceeded to give me an example to argue it but it was just the WAY he said it all. Like I was stupid for even considering this theory. I'm probably overreacting, but sometimes I'll cry when he talks to me like this. I really don't think he's doing it on purpose, he's the best boyfriend I've ever had and he's really sweet. But it's gotten to the point where I don't even want to share my opinion or say anything around him in fear of being put down. Sorry girls, I'm just hurt and upset and needed to vent a little. Anyone experience something like this before?
