Ovulation Day

I have had two failed pregnancies, and TTC for one month now. I don't understand all the things while trying to conceive like the ovulation day. Is it okay to have intimacy every other day the whole month? Or does it have to be right on ovulation day? Last month was the first month we have been trying and had intimacy every day for the ovulation period, and I was one day late but AF came.  Help plz.
