Breastfeeding every hour during the day

My little baby boy is just over 4 months and is breastfeeding every hour. He sleeps from 7:30pm until 7:30am with about an 1 hour e0 mins nap at about midday. Then maybe a power 20mins nap at 3pm. Is anyone else expericing such frequent feeding? I assume as he's sleeping he needs to get his calories throughout the day.

It's so draining and makes it hard to go anywhere as I'll have to stop and feed wherever we go.

Would love to hear I'm not alone.

I have thought about weaning early but really did want to continue to breastfeed exclusively until 6 months. However 2 more months is a long time. At some points today he fed for 10 mins every 45mins.

Also don't think it's a growth spurt as this seems to be his new normal!
