Has anyone gone for an anatomy scan at 18 weeks and not been able to tell the sex?

My doctor said she pushes closer to 20 weeks if you want to tell the sex, but I'm impatient lol

The sex should definitely be obvious by 18 weeks, but whether or not the baby LETS you see it is a different story! I'm going in for the third time next week because my baby is being stubborn! Doctors usually push you further because it's easier to wait it out and get a clear picture than try to tell you early and disappoint you because they can't see it, or even worse make a guess and later find out they were wrong.

The sex is the least important part to doctors, it's about getting good shots of everything else. I was told for anatomy scans, they like to do it closer to 20 weeks to get the best possible look at the heart. I had mine at 18 weeks exactly and everything was clear as day. Great shots of all his organs, and no mistaking he's a boy.

My sister is 14 weeks & just found out today. But my OB is making me wait until I'm 20wks 🙄

Ours was at 17 weeks. There was no mistaking that she was a girl.
