trigger shots: how long did it delay your AF?

🍀
Just had my first Hcg trigger shot and AF is two days late. Just wanted to hear how delayed your AFs were with trigger shots? Im starting to feel hopeful but don't want to go through the disappointment again.

It shouldn't delay your period. It only stays in your system for 14 days. If it's been more than 14 days since you got the shot, test.

Why would they give you the trigger shot that close to you AF being due?

It's been 8 days since my shot so too early to test and I'm 2 days late. 6 more days of waiting to test. Hope AF stays away. My TWW is technically a three week wait...torture

I read that the Hcg hormone makes your body think it's pregnant thereby increasing progesterone and LH. It's only after it tappers off, does AF show... so that's why I was asking. Interesting that you all had AF show up on time. I'm 2 days late but too scared to test.

Why would it delay your period? The whole point of it is to make you ovulate, so wouldn't you have exactly a two-week window between the shot and the beginning of your period?
