How to get back in touch with God?

Question

I used to have a super strong relationship with God. But then I lost it because I chose to. But now I want it back. I know I could read my scriptures and pray, but I feel like it's so much effort and will take a long time to get back what I once had. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How you are feeling right now about how you want to get closer to God is exactly how He has felt about you all this time. He has missed you and He loves you so much sweet girl. No matter what you've done, or no matter where you've been, it doesn't matter when you call upon His name. He created you and He knows your heart! He loves everything about you, for His love is truly unconditional and unwavering. All you have to do is simply trust in Him and simply let Him know how much you miss Him...He will show you where you need to go. If you ever have any doubts or any questions, all you have to do it simply go to Him. He loves you more than you will ever know, and just the fact that you came on here looking for some advice, shows that you are getting where you need to go. You may have lost God, but he never lost you. And he never stopped listening.

Focus on your prayers and spend time in his word, it'll come back to you much faster than you think.

Remember how it felt when you had your first encounter with God! Pray and fast! Talk to God and express how you feel. He already knows the desires of your heart but the intimacy of love, sacrifice, obedience and patience come into place. Fully give yourself to God! It may take some time but you have to keep striving! So many hardships may come to block you but keep reaching for God! For He is always with you!

Anything that's worth having is going to be hard. We're talking about eternal life here! It's so worth it! I've been through the same and thing I'm getting back into the swing of things now actually. God never said it would be easy. He told us it would be difficult but he would be with us every step of the way. Get a devotional. I recommend Jesus Calling journaling devotion. It's awesome!

I felt the same way and then it was suggested to me that being around other believers help to strengthen your faith and relationship with God. People can be so quick to squash your beliefs so being a part of people who'll support your faith helps. X

God will meet you where you are! He is waiting to receive you with open arms! The heavens rejoice when a fallen child comes back home! Just ask for His presence. Ask for him to reveal Himself to you. Ask for him to open your heart to Him and He will! When I desired a relationship with God, I asked Him to open my heart to wanting Him and hungering for Him. I asked Him to show me how to be in relationship with Him and He did. He has the power to transform this right a you are reading this. Don't let the devil make you think that it's going to take forever. He loves you like crazy! Also, get involved with your choice. Join a small group filled with women who can be your support and prayer partners!!

The best thing I ever did to get back in touch was read three books: mere Christianity by CS Lewis, a beautiful outlaw by John Eldridge, crazy love by Francis Chan...fanned the embers into flame for me again. I'll pray that you find yours again too

Find a church and go to it. Iv been going for two months every sunday night and i feel closer to god. Try also listening to worship music. I always be singing n jamming to worship songs
