Thoughts on the Mirena IUD?

I was on the Nuvaring for about a year and half and had issues with it, but I loved that I didn't have to worry about it everyday. So, now I'm considering the IUD, and as an athlete I really enjoy the idea of having little to no period; that's why I want Mirena over Paraguard. Please give me your opinions, I would much appreciate it :).

the mirena literally ruined my life. there's a whole group on Facebook called ban mirena iud, everyone tells their stories, go look at it. it's a horrible horrible thing.

I had to have my mirena surgically removed after having it for 1year. It migrated through my uterus. I wont ever use one again...
