do catheters hurt??

I am so nervous about getting a catheter. How bad does it hurt and doesn't it make it harder to push???

I HATED having a cath. I only had a partial epidural, so I could still feel lots but sweet lord the cath was soooo uncomfortable to have in. I never want one again.

I hate caths! I've had two emergency room visits during this pregnancy where they put a catheter in and I absolutely hated it. I was so pissed lol.

I'm a nurse and I refuse to get an epidural because I don't want a catheter LOL. They usually don't hurt but they can and you can get horrid UTIs after as it's not a sterile procedure. That is enough for me to not ever want one.

Mine didn't hurt going in or coming out. I got it removed after the spinal block had worn off as well. ☺️

I had an epidural and honestly wasn't aware it was in until I was fully dilated and started feeling something there with every contraction. I told them I feel something in my urethera and they said oh that's the catheter 😶 it wasn't painful per say but I'd be aware of it kind of like when your fly is digging in your skin. They took it out once I delivered the placenta (I thought that was routine but most people say they had it longer. I did have bleeding after delivery and they were trying to control it so maybe it was in their way?)

It pinches going in, very uncomfortable is how I would put Uganda a cinch coming out!

Not the best feeling, but to me a lot less worse than getting an IV

Hated it and with me they kept taking it out . Yay . Then having to put it back in ... ugh so my lady parts got so swollen each time they could hardly get it in the last time . Took 4 nurses
