Is it safe to shovel snow during pregnancy?❄⛄

pregnancy?❄⛄" /> So here in Ontario we just go about 15cm of snow. I rent a parking spot from my elderly neighbors so I decided to shovel for myself and them. My mom told me not to shovel and when my fiancé found out I was shoveling he told me to stop. I'm wondering if it's really that big of an issue. I'm sure women have been shoveling during pregnancy. I wasn't very active before pregnancy but I feel like shoveling isn't that big of a deal

Only bad Bc the chances are high of you slipping and falling on slippery snow and or ice

Also from Ontario, north of the city so we got whacked with 3 feet. I shovelled the deck off 4-5 times over the last 3 days lol and I'm fine. I try to plow it more than lift and huck it, if that makes sense. Just be careful about how you're doing it so you don't hurt your back.

It's not safe to shovel snow period lol it's bad for the heart. So considering you're pregnant I definitely would NOT do it.

You'll be fine, just don't over do it and pick up smaller piles of you need too :) I'm in Ontario as well! We're just getting hit with it now. Hopefully it stops by Tuesday I'll be getting induced that day!

The bigger concern would be going from inactivity to sudden exercise (shoveling). Smwith smaller piles, plenty of breaks, proper posture and steady breathing you should be fine.

Just be careful not to lift really heavy piles (my OB said nothing heavier than 20lbs) and don't slip on the ice!
