what do I do with my belly button ring?

I've had a navel piercing since 2009/2010 during my college years. I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant, I don't have a big bump at all, it's mainly all bloating. My doctor mentioned removing it but I don't want my hole to close.

What's the best way to keep the hole open throughout pregnancy?

Order a pregnancy belly button ring. They are long bending plastic belly button rings. Used it with my first. And now currently 31 weeks with my second and using it again as well.

It probably won't close at this point. I got mine done 12 years ago and then stopped wearing anything in it after maybe 6 years, if I randomly put one in, it goes through and that's having nothing in it for over a year.

I had the same fear. I got mine done at 15 years old. Got pregnant a year later. My due date was literally the day after my 2 year anniversary of getting it done 😂 I never really got that big so I never had to take it out. Until the day I gave birth, they made me.

With baby #2 (20 years old) I had to take it out around 25 weeks. I got big fast! I was so afraid of it closing up. I would put it back in once a week for at least an hour.

Well I got to 34 weeks and I just couldn't do it anymore. I took it out and left it out! Baby was born at 39 weeks. I was afraid to try and stick it back in. But it still went in!! 😁 although it had nasty smelling white stuff pushed out while the rod went in. It hurt for a week and now I'm 5 weeks pp and it looks exactly the same as it did the day I got pregnant. 😊
This was my belly button half way through my pregnancy. It stuck way out! 😂

I was pregnant this year and took mine out at 14 weeks. At 6 weeks postpartum, I tried putting it back in but it was a little tough, more so because I was a little scared to push it though. After a few days I tried again and it went right in. I only had mine pierced since 2012.

Mine stayed in till the 8th or 9th month only because of my belly button. But other than that if it's healed it's fine to have in. Your doctor is probably just being cautious. Every doctor is different.

Mine never really closed... i just pushed the ring back in after.... it re-pierced it a bit but nothing major...
