Exercise
Ok y'all.. after 2 early term miscarriages this spring I have made it not to 22 weeks with a healthy baby boy! I'm gaining more weight than recommended (already 25 lbs so far) and I eat well but have become quite sedentary.. I go to an OBGYN that works in a clinical setting meaning all of the doctors rotate. All of my visits have been with someone different. I'll try to make a long story short.
I typically am very active outside of pregnancy, we have dogs and chickens and a 2 year old. However we relocated to the Midwest and between the weather (a foot of snow every weekend and negative temps) and not having any friends I don't do much anymore. I asked my firstOBGYN about implementing more exercise indoors since my time outdoors has become so limited and he said to stick to walking, swimming, and cycling. I asked why and though my pregnancy is progressing as it should he said "it is better safe than sorry." I don't disagree but I don't feel healthy with the minimal levels of "exercise" I get walking around my house. My second OBGYN that I saw said yoga would be fine to add as well. I've been walking around my house, and doing yoga, but I enjoy doing leg exercises like squats, leg lifts, donkey kicks, and wall sits. Would you consider those to fall into the yoga catergory if done sparingly? I know it does wonders for my mood and my feeling of physical wellness.. just curious what other momma think or if they are in a similar position..
