How much does your 4 month old drink?

I don't think my boy is drinking enough. He's slowly putting on weight but no way near what the chart says he should of! He is having about 30ounces in 24 hours. He is now formula fed but was breastfed until he was 3 months.

My 4 month old only drinks 18-22oz a day which I'm worried is no where near enough. He won't drink anymore then that though.

Thanks everyone he had a check up today & didn't seem concerned. He's gaining gradual weight but if he drops at all I have to get back in touch. Can't wait to introduce solids :-) another 2 months xx

My girl is 4 months and currently drinks from 24-32 ounces a day. She weighs 14 pounds and so "technically" with the x2.5 should be drinking up to 35 but babies are really good at knowing when they are full and when hungry and I just prepare 6 ounces a feeding and adjust from there.

Remember that babies also go through periods where they drink more or less depending on being ill, growth spurts, leaps (wonder weeks), super active days etc. As long as your baby is getting a clean bill of health at the dr appointments don't stress!

Weight times 2.5, then divide by amount of feedings. That's how many ounces your breast fed baby should need.
