Will not breastfeeding for one day harm my milk production?

I'm 4 days PP and dealing with severe swelling in my nether regions. I took a lot of medicine (safely) today and didn't want it to transfer to my baby boy. I've also been in a lot of pain because of the swelling and was just too worked up all day to breastfeed.

I've been breastfeeding since an hour or so after birth. My milk just came in today and my boobs have been engorged but I was able to express a little bit with my pump and I did try breastfeeding twice before I took my medication and it slightly helped. He wouldn't stay latched because of how swollen and big my nipples are. I'll be seeing the lactation consultant tomorrow hopefully.

I'm just nervous that not breastfeeding much on the day my milk comes in is going to have an ill effect on my production. Do you think it will?
