My crazy cycles

Why does my cycle take forever to breakthrough? For example my cycle came on Sunday, but only spotting or when I wipe. And today it's still the same with cramps and frequent bowel movements. This happens every cycle. It'll usually get heavy on my fourth day. Why is this it's very stressful!
