Am I overreacting?

Alright. My husband and I have been married for a short time now. Well this past week, his ex girlfriend from 7 years ago added him on facebook. She's now married with 2 kids. Well she's been pretty active on his page (I know it sounds petty). But she shared an old photo of them together while they were dating and commented about them. My husband liked it and started conversation. I don't know why but it really makes me uncomfortable. I don't bring up my past relationships and I don't talk to my ex's. My husband gets irritated with me when I tell him my discomfort. Am I out of line?

Regardless of if you're out of line, it's important to talk to your husband and set up boundaries. Explain to him why something like that would make you uncomfortable and try to give examples of the shoe on the other foot. Find a compromise if there hasn't been any romantic interest in a while. Reach out to her too and get to know her. Often times knowing the other person helps a lot. Talk to her and let her know you are new to marriage and be open about feeling intimidated. If she is happily married and has no ill intent then I'm sure she will be respectful enough to avoid things like that! (:

My boyfriend is the same way. I have an ex that I'm still friends with, but it makes my current boyfriend uncomfortable that we even still talk. I respect that, and I try not to bring him up anymore or talk to him as much. At the end of the day, the guy is still my friend. So occasionally we check in with each other and ask how the other is, brief conversation, and that's it. I wouldn't be too worried, love.

I'd be the same way, my husband is friends with his ex on Fb but I'm also friends with mine. Neither of us share pictures or conversation though.

Ok being friends on Facebook doesn't bother me, but her posting a picture like that when she's married now and your husband starting a conversation with her in the comments of that picture? That's a lil weird

I would definitely feel the same way you are. I don't think you're overreacting at all. I would be pissed off/upset. I mean an ex is an ex for a reason... they should stay in the past. Especially if you are married... thats what I think at least.

Well, if you two are married then their shouldn't be a problem. But if it makes you feel uncomfortable, talk to home and tell him how you feel.
