When using two registries, do you register for the same items?

My step sister is planning one of my baby showers and wanted me to choose two places to register, I had only registered online at Amazon so far. I agreed with her that some people wouldn't go online and to minimize off the registry gifts I should register at a brick and mortar store, so I chose Target. Do I put the same items on both registries and just return duplicates? Some items are obviously only available at one place, but there are several overlaps. So far I have basically two of the same registry at two stores. Does that seem right to you ladies?

I just picked whichever place had the best price (and changed the quantity of I needed more than one if the thing).

I did some items.

My "main one" was definitely Babies R Us - I did a Target one only because for our families there is a Target up the street where my family lives and where my Hubby's family lives. But I honestly thought of just having the Babies R Us one and that's it.

Keep in mind people will buy you what they want! Not many look at registries Noe a days - which sucks! So don't get your hopes too high up that people will actually use/view your registry.

I wouldn't register for it twice, you might end up with two of something you didn't want. For the most part, people can see the other registry so if they find the same thing at one store, they can go online/call the store and mark it as purchased from the other. I know some people did that for our wedding registry.

I overlapped items. So far my experience with showers is that about 30% of people go off your registry. The others buy cute clothes or get you things that worked for them.
