gush of fluid? help!

Question

I went to the bathroom stood up to wash my hands and a large gush of fluid came out and there was a small pool of it on the floor. I went to l&d to see if it was my water that broke and they said no and sent me home! What could it be??? Could it still be that a little bit of my water broke and I could go into labor soon?

sometimes ppl have slow leaks.  if they say its not fluid id say just wait cause this could just be things starting.
