We went in today for my 40 week check up and my cervix still hadn't budged. I have henceforth nicknamed it "The Iron Curtain". So, with no end in sight, and gestational hypertension and major swelling (the Stay-Puffed Marshmallow Man is my spirit animal right now), the doctor advised me that I should deliver ASAP and via C-Section since my cervix was so "unfavorable". I had a two page birth plan detailing my natural, intervention-free birth of my dreams. I intend to burn it tonight in my fireplace as a ceremonial sacrifice. This was not the plan, not the path I would have chosen, but I trust my doctor and this is the path that is safest for baby and me. I am excited to meet my baby boy tomorrow afternoon 💙 FTM with my rainbow baby after 2 years of TTC.
