Inducing or wait to go natural?

Doctor's appointment tomorrow. Almost 39 weeks now. My husband wants me to talk to the doctor about induction. My due date is December 23. I don't necessarily want to be in the hospital on Christmas or have my son on Christmas, so it would be nice to avoid that. But I have seen some things saying that induction is more painful & can can have a greater chance of c-section. What would you do in my situation?
