Have you been induced before?

Question

My due date was yesterday and I'm scheduled to be induced on Monday with the hormone they insert to the vagina and then baby should be here Tuesday. Has anyone done this before? I'm scared and keep hearing mixed things- this makes labor last longer but shorter for some and the contractions are super intense. Any advice experience you can share?

I was induced 2.5 weeks ago. For me it was very easy, I got to the hospital at 9 am and was already 2 cm and 80% effaced. My OB decided to place cytotec in my cervix and said he'd be back to check on me in 4 hours. I got lucky and the cytotec kick started labor for me, within 30 minutes I was having contractions every 3 minutes, so I never needed pitocin because everything progressed naturally from there.  My daughter was born at 11:52 that night, so I ended up with about 14 hours of labor start to finish. I know it's different for everyone, but I hope hearing stories of it going smoothly helps you feel better!

I don't have a personal experience to share, but as far as I understand, and ductions are just like pregnancies in that they are different for everyone... some go smoothly, some require medical intervention, some are really trying. 
Unfortunately, there aren't really indicators (like dilation, effacement, baby's size, etc...) that would help predict what your experience will be like if your first time mom and having first induction.
