Epidural or no?

I feel like people judge you when you get an epidural, I didn't want one but I had to get one for my preeclampsia. It helped my blood pressure but I felt everything down there, I have a high tolerance for pain meds.

I had one with my 1st and I'll be having one with this baby too. People are too quick to judge with everything pregnancy/birth/parenting related. In the end its about what you need and what makes you comfortable, not what everyone else thinks you should do. You can't please everyone 😊

I thought I would go natural, but for me getting an epidural ( after 12 of the most painful hours of my life, and only getting to 2CM) was the best decision for me. Getting an epidural allowed me to relax, rest and visualize my body opening and baby coming down, while in a comfortable state. I was able to dilate and push my daughter out with no complications or tears, after the epidural. I was literally beside myself in pain and agony before getting it.  I blocked a lot of it out of my memory, the pain was so intense, and it happened on Monday. Each story and person is different.  I think for me it had to do with my daughter being very compacted in womb and the way her feet pushed up when I contracted.  I'm a tough and very physical gal, and I totally respect and applaud those who go through it naturally, but for me the epidural was a magical, amazing tool. I'm so thankful I got it and had such awesome results.

As my doctor says, you wouldn't go in for an appendectomy without being put to sleep so why go through birth without an epidural. I mean more power to the women that do, but it's there for us to use to have an easier more enjoyable delievery so why not?

I didn't feel any pain from contractions the only pain I felt was while I was pushing. I was induced to. I got the epidural because all the anesthesiologist were leaving to the or so I just got it to be safe but I felt every single thing during birth I personally would get it again because it helped me sleep and I'm sure my next labor will not be anywhere near as easy as this one

I got the epidural but it didn't work. The spot they need to get to was so far in my back they tried three times to give it to me and then basically told me they couldn't go any further and I would most likely feel everything. They weren't lying lol. At 18 hours of labor and only 5cm dilated I opted for a c section because I was crying so bad from the contractions. I have a very high pain tolerance but once the contractions were one minute apart lasting a minute each I couldn't handle it. Getting an epidural doesn't make you any less of a mommy then anyone else. Neither does getting a c section. Your child will still be brought into this world who cares what anyone thinks.
