My  baby girl who is 17 weeks old has just hit the sleep regression
She sleeps a solid 5-6 hours from 7pm -1am then after that she's up every 1-2 hours
At what point do you start to introduce sleep training
During or after the sleep regression ?
It's only been going on 5 nights now so if I wait how long should I wait for?
Advice please ladies

My son is 4 months and has never slept through the night, he eats every 3 hours. If he hits this sleep regression he'll be up 24/7 lolI don't have advice for sleep training. My mom explained what she did when we were kids but nothing works for my son. He's just always hungry.

Consider yourself lucky. My son is up every 2 hours all night since starting the regression. We haven't started any sleep training yet.

I know! And it seems like such a simple skill, but obviously it's not haha

Oh dear ! It's so tiring isn't it! And frustrating knowing they are tired but just keep struggling to stay asleep πŸ˜”

Following...we are two weeks into sleep regression...she wakes every two hours! 😫 yesterday we started sleep training by changing her bedtime routine instead of nursing her to sleep I fed her around half6/7 then get changed into pjs and read a story by that time she's hopefully sleepy enough to put in cot and try let her fall asleep. I will just shhh and pat when she gets fussy or wakes up before really needing a fed (well that's the plan) she associates sleep to nursing so I need to stop her feeling that wayπŸ™ˆ easier said than done I think πŸ˜– xxx

We started sleep training last week. LO is 19 weeks old. She has always been a good sleeper, sleeping 8-8 with one wake up, then 630-7 with one wake up. But then she started waking up several times a night and needed the pacifier replaced. So last week, we transitioned to the crib (from the rock and play) and ditched the swaddle and the paci. Now she is sleeping soundly (with no sleep crutches - no rocking, shushing, bouncing, pacifier or swaddle - we lay her down wide awake and she goes to sleep) from 530-6pm until 6am. She does usually still wake around 4am to eat.

Hi Sia, what kind of training did you do?

I would suggest reading the book by Richard Ferber. The methods get a lot of flack but mostly from those who haven't read the book. We started slowly night weaning after his 3 month growth spurt as his night waking increased significantly. He's now back to one night feed. You simply delay to feeds by 15-30 minutes each night until that becomes his new normal. Send in dad so buy doesn't smell the milk. After that, you can try sleep training. We are on day 3 of the Ferber method and I'm already seeing some success for naps and night. There also the "no cry sleep solution" book which is more gentle but this did not work for our child.Good luck!

may i ask what exactly is sleep training? how do you make a baby sleep? i just make sure we follow the routine: bath at 7-8, bottle at 10 the latest, lights out, rocking and shhhhing and again if needed (if ge wakes up); if he wakes up hungry during the night, we quickly feed him, no playing or talking or lights, as soon as he finishes it's back to shhhhh abd crib. my boy is 4 months and has been sleeping the whole night since month 2 (with occasional regressions).

A few family members and other ppl have said to me to start sleep training so she learns to self settle my mum is continuously telling me to leave her and let her cry it out a little and other friends suggest not to feed hr back to sleep and just shh -pat
