Baby poop

I already made a dr appt. My baby is formula fed. His poop is normally mushy like the consistency of a smoothly mashed banana. Yesterday and today his poop looks very liquidy. I don't think it is diarrhea because it only happens once a day. However, he forces farts a lot and cries everytime he eats. I burp him every ounce and use gas drops. What do you think normal? Or should I worry? It's been like this since I had to switch to similac advance from gerber gentle because I moved to another state and that's what wic gave him.
