congested baby. advice please

My almost 4 month baby is very congested and stopped up. I've been using nasal saline spray and suctioning him throughout the day. Any suggestions on what else I can do to help him feel better?

Sitting in steam in the bathroom worked wonders for my son.

What do you suction with? I highly recommend the Nosefrida - it's amazing - much better than the usual aspirations. My son had a terrible cold around 1mo, and he couldn't breath to feed. I used to out saline in his nose then use the nosefrida and it brought out so much mucus that you couldn't even see in his nose. I also did the head under a towel over a bowl of boiled water - with me holding him of course - instead of steamy bathroom.

Get a humidifier. After discovering the magical abilities of a warm mist humidifier last winter I will never go without one again!

Nose frida! It's super gross, but it works! We also use a humidifier while he sleeps

My son currently is 4 months and is super mucusy. He has a horrible cough and his nose is so congested. Ive been sitting in a steamy bathroom with him, using saline, nose frida (if you don't own this buy it!), and humidifier. He also has a horrible cough.

I highly recommend a NoseFrida! We bought it at Target, but you can find it elsewhere too. Before having our baby, I told myself I'd never use one because it isn't the most pleasant thing to see. Like most kids, our son developed a bit of a stuffy nose/congestion as the weather got colder and more dry. This product costs about $15, but it is worth every penny! The bulb syringe/nasal aspirator is worthless. NoseFrida is much quicker and more efficient to use while trying to relieve a squirmy, congested baby. We typically use 1-2 squirts of saline up each nostril, wait about 30 sec, then use NoseFrida. This will probably be a gift to my 'new mom' friends in the future! Also, a humidifier in baby's room also helps!

Blah, I just went through this:( I totally wasn't prepared for him to have a cold so no humidifier:( I basically sat in a steamy bathroom for 15 mins several times a day or especially before bed. It helped him breath better, his nose would get super runny and I'd suction it out real well so when he slept he wasn't so stuffed up. I ended up getting a humidifier but he was pretty much better by then. I wish I had it sooner so I wouldn't have had to sit in the bathroom so much.
