my boss is stealing money from me out of my paycheck??

I don't know much about all this tax stuff but something doesn't add up. I made 304.00 in gross, 8.00 an hour, I'm a waitress, and 162.05 in tips. After taxes he said I made 211.77 and 42.05 in tips. I don't think that's right I'm just too afraid to ask.

They take taxes out on your tips too. Go ahead and ask tho because that seems a little much but it maybe different where I work since I'm paid 2.13 an hour not counting tips

Woa $8 an hour is so little!! What is minimum wage where you are? 
(Not relevant to your question I’m just curious because that seems like not enough money to live off!) 
 
But that seems pretty standard to me. 
I covered someone’s day shift and made something like 1.3k before taxes and it was  900 something after taxes. 
This would be my first year eligible to file taxes so I’ll have to look into how that works. 
Now I have my own business though and I’m only charging $15 an hour rather than $17 but I don’t take taxes off. 
I’m collecting all my invoices and when the time comes I’m just going to pay someone to do my taxes for me because I’m completely clueless on that front. 
They should really teach how to do taxes in school.

They tax you for tips too but you don't have to claime it all you have to claime a certain amount but if u make more then only Claime what u need to and keep the rest I'm a waitress too
