high school sweethearts?

What is your opinion on beginning to date someone young and your chance of your relashionship lasting? I met my current boyfriend when I was in 8th grade we dated until we were sophomores, then we went out and dated other people. Then we started dating again the end of my senior year in high school. Now we've been together for almost 4 years. I'm graduating college soon, and my boyfriend is already graduated and has an amazing job. And once I graduate we want to think about renting a home together, then possibly get engaged soon. But it's been on my mind lately our chances or really making it as a couple. It's concerning and scary to think one day I might not have him in my life, and I can't even begain to try and imagine life without him. But as of late two or three of our family members have been saying that we most likely won't last, and high school sweethearts don't last. They make a very clear point to try and tell us we won't last. And I have decided to try and ignore the negativity, my boyfriend and I have made it 4 years together. I think we have the potential to make a strong partnership, marriage and family in the future. Just wondering what everyone else's opinions are?

My husband and I met in middle school and started dating our senior year of HS and have been married a long time so it can be done. If you are meant to be together then it will be. Ignore the negative voices around you. Only you two know what you have together.

My grandparents and my great grandparents are high school sweethearts. Both couples are still very much in love. My fiancé and I are getting married in a couple weeks and we met in middle school and dated twice briefly before this time and I can't imagine a better person for me. It honestly works for some people, most people don't stay with their high school sweethearts because most people in high school aren't mature enough to grow with their partner, but they're are the lucky ones. ❤ I say keep on loving him to the best of your ability.

I'm only 17, and I've been with my boyfriend for almost 4 years now, but that being said my parents have been together since my mom was 15, they're going to be married 30 years soon. My boyfriends sister and brother-in-law are highschool sweethearts as well they've been together over 10 years and have been married for like 6, they have a son and are doing amazing.  It's totally possible. You can't listen to what everyone else thinks about your relationship with your partner. You know how you feel and he knows how he feels and that's the only thing that matters. As long as you're in a healthy, loving relationship and you guys can work through problems you should be fine. I'd suggest moving in together first though, it's completely different than just seeing each other or staying over a few nights. 😊
