Ladies if your going to get a lap band research it and get maintenance on it like your supposed to! Mil had it done almost 4 years ago along with a placation (hope the spelling is right ) she has only got maintenance on in this past year when she got it done she had to jump through hoops because it wasn't fda approved. She wanted to be skinny and not worry about what she ate (diabetes runs in the family). Carbs and starches are all she wants. We live in a small town in Florida she decided to travel 8 hours to Hollywood FL to have the procedure done. Now here we are 4 years later she's in the hospital (nothing by mouth) trying to get any Dr to let the fluid out of her band. Because of the procedure no one wants to touch her. Also it's Monday and she hasn't been able to hold anything down since Thursday. My husband and I brought her to the hospital closest to us 1 hr away to get fluids and hopeful someone will get it to where she can hold food down. I am 37.3 weeks pregnant and about to pop and am up here with her because her son (my husband ) has to work her so does her other son and her daughter doesn't give 2 shits that's a nurse. So needless to say and to end my rant Ladies if you are going to get this type of surgery or any of this sort please get it done locally no more then 2 hours away and get your yearly checks or maintenance done on when need be. We got to her house on Friday and she looked like death warmed over she couldn't even stand up. We tried to see how she would do the weekend and yesterday decided for her to bring her to the hospital the iv fluids are helping. Ladies please just take care of yourself! These procedure if not took care of can be deadly which is to the point my mil is at. Take care of yourself your loved ones need you!
