Nexplanon implant

Tristan
Today I got the Nexplanon implant, which I am excited and nervous for as I'm not sure how the hormones will affect me, despite all my research, as every body is different. I just wanna mention a couple things about the experience of getting the implant in.
1. Despite having to provide the date of the last day of my first period numerous times (setting up the appointment, on the health questionnaire, to the nurse) it was only once the doctor asked during my appointment that I found he might not be able to do it since I'm currently during my fertile part of the cycle and thus might be pregnant. Luckily, since I haven't had sex since before my last period, I couldn't be and we proceeded.
2. As one might read in other reviews of getting the implant, the shot to numb the area is the most painful part, it was probably about 8 seconds of pressure and stinging, but thanks to that, I didn't feel the insertion of the implant at all, though I could feel it just beneath my skin afterward which is weird. I bled and it seemed like a lot, but they put on an obnoxiously large bandage to stay for 24 hrs to stop it. The smaller wrapping underneath is to stay for 72 hrs.
3. If you're keeping that you're sexually active from any of your parents (my dad, I'm 18) then dress for it! I specifically wore a tank top so they could easily put it in my arm, with a baggy long-sleeve over it which did a great job of hiding my bulky bandage.  Now I just have to wait for this awful bruise to heal before I can wear just a t-shirt xD
Anyone else have any good stories or tips about getting Nexplanon? ^u^
