Itchy dry tattoo?

I have a tattoo on my bicep thats almost 3 years old and randomly it will get super dry and itchy. Just the tattoo though not the skin around it or anywhere else just the tattoo. Anyone know why this happens? It drives me nuts not just because it itches but the dry skin makes it look like crap!

If I had to guess, it probably has something to do with the ink and your skin and the weather all mixing. My tattoos are a year and a half and seven months old and they'll still get itchy and dry too. Use a little bit of cocoa butter on them, I use the Palmer's brand lotion one, and that should help relieve some of the itching and keep your skin from drying out.
