Fetal shaking movements????

Question

I'm 33 weeks tomorrow, and I've noticed that his movements feel shaky lately. Sometimes it's like he gets a cold chill and shakes for a second and then resumed normal activity. This happens multiple times every day lately. I see my OBGYN Thursday and I am getting an ultrasound - I think I'm going to ask them to look into it. Does anyone else feel this kind of movement???

Before someone suggests it.... No, it's not hiccups & and no it's not uterine spasms. This feels very different!

UPDATE: had my appointment today and doctor said that if it's occasional it can be a natural startle reflex that some infants have, but he said it could also be seizures. He said that IF it's seizures (which would be very very rare) there isn't anything they can do while I'm pregnant. It's only treated after they are born. He is leaning towards reflexes but said the amount I get it is concerning. He said that as long as he is moving fine and normally after then we aren't going to worry.

We looked at his cord just to check. It's not wrapped weird and blood flow looks great! He is almost 5lbs!!!!! So, clearly getting nutrients. Hope that's helpful info for everyone out there!

I was told that it is baby practicing their "breathing" action and it's a good sign 😊 It scared me at first too because it does feel like they're having a seizure!

This also happens to me. It feels like she is shivering in there sometimes. I asked my ob about it and he just looked at me like i was crazy and said I'm pretty sure shes warm in there. So idk what to think but she is healthy and growong fine. Please let us know if you get any real insight about this.

Well I wasn't going to say it's hiccups cuz that sure does feel different. But I feel the same thing with my baby boy, I think it's normal. (34 weeks) You ever see a newborn shaking when they are mad and crying for their milk? I suppose that's how they move inside the womb. Their movements are unstable and are still playing & practicing movements. As long as your baby is still moving and kicking, I wouldn't worry about it 😊

I've feel the exact same things sometimes!!!! I was so curious & worried.  and was going to ask the same thing to my ob/gyn! Glad you had an update! :)

I've never felt anything like that, and this is my third baby. Did you get any answers? I'm curious what they think it is.

This happens to me, too! My doc said babies dont have seizures in the womb, though.

A couple times I got some weird kicks.. like a boxer throwing really fast punches into a punching bag is how I'd describe it... is that anything like what you felt?

Well I've had this since twenty some weeks and my doctor had me see a specialist and said we might have to do an EEG on her after she is born. My younger sister had seizures until she was one and my older brother died at four months from what looked like his body just stopped breathing. So they are watching me and her a lot more. But she's growing great and developing wonderfully
