please help ladies what is wrong with me??

So every now n then I have felt almost like I've got a ball or hair ball or somethin in the back of my throat like midway down if that makes sense bit Tmi I have tried coughing it up and nothing comes up I've put my finger down n there's actually nothing there that I can feel but the feelin of it drives me insane!!! My friend said it could be gerd... I don't even know what that is but does anyone else get this? What could it be? I am 21 weeks pregnant xx

Well, gerd is an acronym for something I can't remember. Basically it's an acid reflux type thing. I'm 20 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I've been having an insane amount t of thick horrible saliva and mucus. Idk if maybe that is what is happening to you. Sometimes it does feel like there is something clinging to the back of my throat. If that's the problem I suggest drinking as much water as you can handle, and cutting dairy out of your diet as much as possible. Dairy just makes mucus thicker and water helps thin the mucus. Mine has been so bad it gags me and makes me throw up. I hope you can get it figured out!

You may have reflux but I would never classify it as GERD. Which like the above poster said is essentially reflux. The difference being that GERD is so severe it requires diet change, causes failure to trive, and requires lots of medication. (My daughter is in 2 heavy reflux medications 4 times a day and has been for 6 months with no foreseeable change.)

As far as your question I would drink lots of water or other fluids and see if that helps. Colds sometimes make me feel this way because of the phlegm running down your throat.
