cord clamp???

Okay, so I'm clueless bc I'm a ftm as well. But my church friend just had her baby girl about a week ago. When they sent her home, they didn't take the clamp off of her cord? I didn't know if some hospitals just left it on or not, but when I took my daughter home, they made sure the alarm bracelet was off, the clamp, and all of her ankle bracelets and gave them to me before we left. I just figured it'd be harder to clean her belly button with the clamp still attached? But she posted on snapchat that her cord came off, which is how I figured out they left the clamp on. Is this okay? I just didn't know.
