Need opinions on when to take clomid (sorry for it being long)

So, first off let me tell you my OBGYN got a new NP for starters. So, they prescribed me a new round of clomid but, this month I went back on birth control since my husband and I needed a break after this last cycle and me being such an emotion reck when my period came. So, I asked the NP when she thinks I should start taking clomid after the month on birth control, keep in mind the woman knows nothing about my case I had to tell her what I had previously been on so she knew what dosage of clomid to even prescribe. Well, she told me to wait a couple months after the birth control and then take the clomid but, based off what I have heard its best to take it right after the birth control cycle to jump start your system but, I also am nervous about compromising the clomid cycle and not getting good results.. what do y'all think take it right after the birth control cycle or wait a few months then take the clomid?!
