Contraception help

I was meant to be getting a mirena coil fitted today but unfortunately my doctor called and said where I have to go to see a neurologist because I might have epilepsy she won't fit it due to the fitting of the coil might cause a seizure. I have had the mirena coil before I had a baby but then started having weird episodes whilst pregnant and afterwards to which they think it could be epilepsy. Is she being too over the top with this or is she right? What do people recommend for other types of contraception?
