I'm just giving up I think

Okay ladies.... I'm at a loss honestly. AF was due 12/17, never showed. I spotted a really dark brown discharge for about an hour a few days later, and that was it. I took a test a couple days later that had a vvvvvvfl, but every test since then has been negative.

Have any of you ladies experienced this and still had a positive outcome? Did anyone get all negatives on home tests but a positive blood test? I have a dr appt on Jan 5th. I'm just wondering if I should even hold out hope for a positive.

Could really use some advice, personal stories, opinions, anything 😓
