Third trimester every two weeks appointments?

First time mom  and I'm wondering  How does this usually work?  Do they give you ultrasounds to see how big baby is everytime?  What usually happens at these appointments?  And what are some questions to ask the doctor as I approach delivery?

I think this all depends on your doctor and where you live. In Canada, you don't get an ultrasound past your 20 week anatomy scan unless they are worried about something. Mine are the same as every other appointment. They check blood pressure, heartbeat, and measure my fungal height. My doctor doesn't do cervix exams until after due date (common where I live). The doctors here do not estimate size of baby, but if you.are way off your fundal height they would send you for an ultrasound to check.

I have had 2 2 week appts. At both he just listened to the heartbeat (I've had an ultrasound at every appt up until now). Nothing else has happened. I ask a few question and he check my legs for swelling and I'm out. In and out, like that.

At 36 weeks, they did the Group B test swab so while they were down there, they checked my cervix and said it was still closed but baby had dropped. At 37 weeks, it was a typical appt (Doppler, measure belly) and the doc also mentioned what to look for in order to know when I'm in labor. From 38 weeks on, they start doing weekly cervical checks for dilation. At 40 weeks, they also go ahead and schedule an induction for a week later in case baby doesn't come on her own by 41 weeks.

If you're measuring right they won't give you scans then pretty much just do the basics (your BP can change at any moment they want to catch early onset of anything ) so yea it should start at the 3rd trimester usually & the last month around 34-36 weeks you start going weekly in that month they will do cervical check & positioning checks sometimes they do growth scans around this time

I just found out Thursday my doctor actually does once every 4 weeks until 36 weeks if you aren't having any issues then straight to once a week. I'm perfectly fine with that. My appointments seem to last only 10 minutes or so, so I'm fine not going every 2 weeks.

Every OB will do things differently, generally they will not give you repeat ultrasounds unless they've found something previously they are concered about. 
Mine just goes over my weight gain, makes sure I'm still taking my vitamins and staying hydrated and started cervical checks at 37 weeks.

It's going to be the same as any other appointment!!! If ur not high risk or the doctor don't see any concerns everything remains the same except ur going every 2 weeks!!!!!
