has anyone not gotten a positive pregnancy test until a couple of days after AF was late?

I am currently 3 days late for my expected period. I am usually pretty regular. I did not chart or anything this month so I am not exactly sure when I ovulated. The only symptom I have is very sore boobs and nipples.  My pregnancy tests have come back negative. So I'm asking if anyone has ever not gotten a positive test until a couple of days after AF was due? Should I just assume I'm out this month?
