Poems & spoken word anyone?

Jessika • no one is you, and that is your power

Hey guys! So I love to write and perform poetry which translates to spoken word. I wanted to share with you all because I get nervous when talking to people about my art.

This poem was specifically designed to be spoken word. It's a little long, but it performs really well. Let me know what you guys think.

You are the words I write

With every single stroke of the pen there lies your lies

With every single word I create your body

So when you leave again

I can almost touch you, I can, I can,

I can feel the heat radiating from the paper

Because I can no longer feel the heat from your body

You are my most beautiful story

Not all stories have a happy ending

Ours always ends in tragedy

But every time you call

I'll always run back

You're like the midnight snack

I know I shouldn't indulge, but everything about you is just oh so good

You're my guilty pleasure.

I keep a secret.

I love, I love, I love

The tears you bring to my eyes

That stinging feeling

That lump in my throat That's just too hard to swallow

Reminds me that I'm alive

And I had you.

I rather have you here

Than not feel you at all.

You will forever live between these lines.

Because I'm in love with you
