Cereal for breastfed baby at 5 months

Nicole

According to this article http://www.parents.com/baby/feeding/solid-foods/introducing-baby-to-solids/ "the American Academy of Pediatrics' section on breastfeeding supports exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months, its committee on nutrition says that solids can be introduced between 4 and 6 months."

My son sits ok with assistance, has shown a lot of interest in ouf food, and of course holds head up well. He's breast fed (and bottle pumped breast milk fed). My gut says he's ready for solids and i was sold on the 6 month rule until i saw how interested in food hes been getting.

Thoughts?
