We want to fix my husband's credit score, its pretty low we made a few bad financial decisions , anyway some things we didn't pay off now say closed accounts on his credit check . does he still have to pay those closed accounts or no ?

Do not inquire about closed accounts because they will open them back up. How long they've been closed? I fixed my credit myself back in 2012, did tons of research, took me only a year to go from the mid 500's to a 700, I'm at 747 now, can't seem to get over that hump! Lol

If u send me your email I can email u some ebooks I used to get my husband credit up . U must do the work though or it won't happen. U can get closed accounts off your credit report by writing them a letter .

In general yes you need to pay them if there's still a balance, they'll go to collections otherwise (if they're not already there). If he thinks that they were paid it there as lso under a collection then no- once you pay the collector they'll tell the company is paid and the balance will be updated.  
Check out creditkarma- its got a lot of good advice on credit repair.  Don't trust anyone who says they're going to fix it fast, but you may want to ask at your bank if there's anyone you can talk to about it. They should be able to set you up with someone who can go over your credit report with you and help.

Back when we bought a house in 2011 we used a company called 640orfree.com to get our score high enough to buy a house and sure enough it worked for us! They basically dispute everything bad on your credit report and if they can't prove it all then they have to remove it. Just an idea!
