Blankets in bassinet/crib with baby?

Question

So I know the rule is no blankets, but I can't let my baby get cold and he will not be swaddled. I tuck the blanket under his armpits and leave his arms out so he can't pull the blanket up over his face but his body is still covered. He's 4 weeks old so this works for now. 
I worry more when he sleeps with me. He sleeps on my chest or on his side facing me. Both of those ways I feel he can't suffocate from a blanket. 
How does everyone else do it?

We use a sleep sack. She doesn't get cold and can't pull it over her face.

I do the same and make sure I use something like Aden and anais- a more breathable blanket

I put my daughter in pajamas and then put these over her pajamas..so essentially I double pajama her but it works great and cheaper than sleep sacs.

No blankets for my baby. She 7 weeks and can't control her hands so she puts it in her face. So she gets a onsie and socks under her pjs

I don't see a problem putting a blanket tucked under his arm pits as long as their arms are out. I have done this with my little guy since he was born, he's 12 weeks today. He sleeps in same room as us though, I don't know if I would be doing that when he's in his own room though. If they are sleeping in their own room. I'd make sure it's cool in the house, and put a warm onsie on them :) with a hat and baby mittens. My boy is little heater though, so he will get too hot...just learn what your baby likes and do it however they like it! Who cares what other moms think, you know your baby better than ANYONE

My 2 week old has been sleeping with me ... I honestly don't think sleep sacks keep baby warm it's just like thing Pjs to me . And sometimes I'll sleep with sweats and long sleeves and still need 2 blankets and our heat is always on 80

I put a blanket on my LO.  But really she ends up kicking it off anyways. Most of her blankets are light enough I'm not worried about it.

I put the blanket under her armpits and tuck it under the bassinet mattress. I recently got her a sleep sack but I feel she sleeps better with the blanket tucked around her since it's tighter.
