Has your partner undergone a Semen Analysis?

Semen Analysis?" /> If so, could you explain yours and your partners experience? How long had you been TTC before the Analysis? Was it covered by insurance? Was it suggested to you?

Any and all shared advice/ experience would be greatly appreciated!

We had been trying for a year and it was recommended by my gynecologist. His regular doctor had to request the test though since my doctor doesn't do his medical records. If your SO's doctor will request him to do one earlier I would as this could've helped us out TTC and gotten our journey with a specialist started sooner.  Insurance didn't cover the test which was $200 but they said my DH could take the paperwork and try to file it with his insurance to get some of the money back. My DH had normal count (26 mil) and volume (2.4) but low morphology (2% when goal is atleast 4%) and very low motility (12% when it should be above 40%). He was recommended to a urologist who determined he had low testosterone and small variocele. He recommended us to an infertility specialist but it was a 2 122 month wait to get in with her. A month later after more bloodworj determined his testosterone was still low, he was prescribed Clomid and was on it for 40 days before his next SA (3 months after the first one). His count jumped to 54 mil, volume to 5.6, morphology to 3%, and motility to 18%. Sperm usually take 3 months to "mature" and in less than a month and a half we saw an "impressive amount of improvement" according to our specialist. Make sure if you see a specialist you get someone who is highly recommended and you like should you have to go this route. Ours was worth the almost 3 month wait and immediately had me get my testing started. Our first appointment with her was the 6th and I had my testing that day and the following and we go back the 29th to have a Christmas gift from her which is a game plan so she can give us an even better Christmas gift in 2017.  Let me know if you have any questions and I'll help answer them the best I can. My husband just got a reversal and will get one done in 4 months. But from what the dr saw on the scope he said we have an 80% chance. My donor had one done because after me going to two drs in 8 months I knew I was fine. Comes to find out it was him and he lied about his results the first time.
