Do the doctors clean your newborn baby before handing them to you?

I know it seems shallow, but I would just like to know. I get queasy very easily when it comes to bodily fluids/chunks.

They set her on top of my hospital gown on my chest and cleaned her off while she was on me. The hospital delays cord clamping so she had to be on me lol

The doctor threw my son right up onto my chest. He actually slapped my face when the doctor did it and the nurse had to clean it off haha. I could have cared less what he looked like at that moment. He looked right into my eyes and thats all that mattered at that moment.

Nope, they just put them right on ya. Skin to skin usually happens directly after you give birth which is such a beautiful bonding moment with your baby, once you feel your baby on you then you won't be thinking about the fluids

I agree with all the other posters. Once that baby comes, all the stuff you thought would disgust you ain't no thang. Baby pees on you in the middle of the night? You crawl right back in bed with a pee spot on your leg. Spitup gets in your hair? Ponytail it and move on. After the hours of labor (and all the accompanying bodily fluids), you definitely will not care about any type of gunk.

They didn't clean my baby because the vernix is good for the baby so you shouldn't bathe them for a while. But even without them cleaning her, she wasn't gross or covered in gunk. She was actually pretty clean and didn't even look like a newborn. And trust me you won't care you'll just want to hold your baby
