sleep paralysis or something else?

I THINK I'm having sleep paralysis. It happens when I begin to fall asleep,  I know when it's starting because my ears feel a bit covered. I begin to dream that I'm awake and asking for help, sometimes I feel that I'm in my bed and literally feel that I'm touching my fiancé and calling for help but in the dream I CAN talk and scream, I just don't get a reaction from the persons I'm screaming to for help.. it's so SCARY, feel my brain is working so hard. At first I forced myself to awake and had this uncomfortable feeling but then I read an article that suggested to wiggle toes and fingers, this has helped smoothly get out of it... I found my self breathing harder the last 2 times. It's almost every night now and usually when I'm very sleepy. I feel like I'm literally moving around and yelling/crying for help at whoever is literally with me in the room.. when I wake up from it, I still feel a bit scared from the experience but don't feel anything strange in the room, because I'm extremely tired, I fall back asleep but if I stay in same position it will happen again... I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT..
NOW for a possible trigger, I used to have partial seizures and had surgery 3 yrs ago,  stopped taking Lamotrigine for a year but have recently started it again.. could this be causing it? :( I just got engaged, I'm not stressing or have anxiety, I'm afraid to go to sleep now.. IT IS VERY SCARY I JUST WANT IT TO STOP AND BE ABLE TO FALL ASLEEP SMOOTHLY TILL THE NEXT MORNING..

Yes this is def sleep paralysis. I have it also. Determining if u have onset when falling asleep or when waking is SUPPOSED TO be helpful but I don't see how. I get the partial dreams also. Mostly it happens to me if I go back to bed after waking up fully and also when my body is tired. Sleep paralysis is what occurs naturally in every person so we don't get up and act out our dreams (think step brothers scene) and people like you and I, our brains wake up b4 our bodies do, it's torture. I also breathe very hard hoping my hubby will hear me and wake me up. I've had it for 13 years so it's gotten to where I can moan n if he's awake he will wake me up. Getting g regular sleep helps me a lot.
