sore nipples after pumping?!

Today was day 1 of pumping and after pumping my nipples are soooo sore! Why?? So I need to just get use to it and they won't be sore anymore or will it always be like that? I am able to adjust the suction and the I did lessen it the 2nd time but they still hurt ?? Am I doing something wrong? Any tips?

Sounds like you have the wrong size flanges. It shouldn't hurt at ALL. I exclusively pumped for weeks and zero pain once the flanges were the right size :)

I've been pumping for two days now n I figured if I apply a small amount of Honest company nipple cream to my nipples, areolas, and the shaft where the nipples go before pumping there will be less friction n my nipples will be less sore. It's been working for me so far.

Id like to know too ive been pumping for 6 weeks now and it hurts like crazy the first 30 seconds and my nipples are always super sore and tender.
