i hate to say this but: high class families- how much pocket money do you give your children

My husband and I grew up in bad circumstances we didnt really have much but right now my husband's career is just incredibly good. We live in the Hollywood Hills now everything's cool but like when I see our neighbors and how they treat their children I'm pretty shocked.

Our kids are already growing up in a huge mansion with everything and our first priority is to teach them the value of money. So far I'm very proud of our son who's only 5 but he's so smart and loving he gave all his christmas presents kids in orphanages, he did this last year already but this year he did that by himself this year.

So basically, when I talked to my neighbor who also has a 5 year old and a 15 year old and she said the 5 year old gets $50 bucks  everyday when he goes to kindergarten and her 15 year old gets about $800 A WEEK!

We obviously could pay that but honestly like when my husband was 15 he was working (and additionally doing illegal work but don't wanna talk about it) to bring money home to his mother and sister. 

So basically we dont want our kids to work, they will learn how to be responsible in different ways but would it be unfair of us if we'd just give our 15 year old like 20 maybe 30 bucks a week even if everyone around them gets more?

We'd obviously go shopping and buy them toys or whatever but the weekly money would be for them to spend on food ? Also - my husband is in the music industry so we know so many people who were born famous or just had lots of money growing up either through their family or because they became famous so early and they spent all their money on drugs at a very young age and that's another reason why we don't want them to have too much money. My husband already has drug issues and I definitely want them to learn from his mistakes.
