dangerous love?

my boyfriend is somewhat abusive, his mom just found out today after months of me dealing with it, he treats me the best I've ever been treated I just think he is going through mental problems and I have dealt with depression/anxiety/anerexia he has helped me through it all and if I leave him he will end his life. I plan on marrying him and having a family which I've always wanted, sometimes it just gets hard , I'm not sure If I'm asking for advice but I'm sure anything would help..

If he threatens you with suicide if you leave, that is abuse. Mental illness is not an excuse to abuse anyone. I suffer from mental illness and I've never been abusive to my partner. I encourage you to get out before it gets worse. A man who is even "somewhat" abusive will only become more abusive over time. You shouldn't bring a child into that either because he will treat them the same way.

Of course I don't know everything about your situation, and having never been in that position myself I can't pretend to understand exactly how you're feeling. However, I've known too many women who have stayed in abusive relationships that started out happily, and too often the abuse continued until the relationship ended. There comes a point where, regardless of the responsibility you feel to them, you should do what is best for you. If you are really fearing for your safety I really think you should put yourself first, do what you need to do to keep yourself safe. At the very least make sure you always have a  way to get out and defend yourself, and surround yourself with people who have your best interests at heart. There are a lot of resources available to people coping with domestic violence, I highly recommend you find services in your area. 
I realize I'm in no place to tell you how to live your life, but please, above all else, take care of yourself.

Okay if he abused you, regardless of wether or not he's better now, if you're planning on marrying him he will start again. No question about it. It's an unhealthy relationship. If he says he will kill himself if you leave, that's his decision. Don't go deeper in the quicksand where you can't get out of an abusice relationship.

Okay so I don't know all of the details but abuse weather he is having issues or not is not okay. By not acknowledging that he needs help and getting it makes him continue to abuse you and is his fault. Never stay with someone because they say they will kill themselves for it. If you have had those issues I would leave him and take care of yourself. Did you hurt him when you were having those problems???
