this is super important and i need you ladies help!!

i do not have high blood pressure, but i've been on atenolol {beta blocker} for a year now for my anxiety and my doctor did prescribe me birth control {loloestrin} but i have yet to take it. i am suppose to take it tonight. i am 19 years old and was just wondering if any of you take beta blocker and birth control together. or if you know anyone who does? i just need advice on whether or not this is safe. my obgyn said it could cause stroke in woman 35 and older but still worries me! help please
